Volvo Trucks has now delivered more than 5,000 battery-electric trucks to customers in 50 countries around the world including more than 80 in Australia.
This years’ Excellence in Smart transport Award has been awarded to Volvo Group Australia. Announced at the Smart Energy Council’s inaugural Smart Energy Excellence Awards Gala Dinner in Sydney. The award recognises excellence in innovation, value and impact in transport with an emphasis on renewable energy.

Volvo Group Australia Acquires Truck Centre Western Australia In Key Investment Move
Effective July, 1, 2025, Truck Centre Western Australia will become a business entity under the Volvo Group Australia banner. The acquisition includes all 8 existing branches and all service centres throughout Western Australia.

Volvo Group Australia announces HVO 100 factory first fill at Wacol QLD facility
As VGA works toward meeting it’s 2030 emissions reductions target, the group has announced that, from December 2024, all Volvo and Mack trucks built at Volvo Group Australia’s Wacol QLD factory will be filled with Hydro Treated Vegetable Oil (HVO) instead of diesel fuel.
The European consumer test organization Euro NCAP has for the first time ever assessed the safety of heavy-duty trucks. Volvos’ best-selling models, the Volvo FH and the Volvo FM, both received the top rating of five stars. The Volvo FM also had the best overall test result among all tested trucks.

Western Australia has received the state’s first fully electric OEM Heavy Duty truck - a Volvo FM Electric truck - delivered to CD Dodd, a leader in mine refurbishment, rehabilitation and recycling.
Volvo Trucks has lifted the lid on the all-new fuel saving Aero range for the Australian market. After debuting in Europe in early 2024 the FH Aero range has been impressing media and customers alike with both its on-road refinement and its energy efficiency. European testing has shown efficiency improvements of up to 5%.
