World-class crew cabs

Volvo cab safety is engineered to protect firefighters when the unexpected happens. Our cabs are developed to meet demanding ECE R29 cab strength test standards and the Swedish BOF10 standard, alongside Volvo’s own internal barrier testing. Combined with strong cab structure, considered visibility and ergonomic design, this helps deliver one of the safest cab environments in the industry.

In control of the situation

We know that situational awareness is critical in fire and rescue operations. That’s why a key feature of the cab design is excellent visibility. We provide driver and crew generous window areas, slimline mirror design, with the CMS option, and minimal blind spots.

All further supported by the Volvo suite of active safety systems.

Safe driving

The choice of fully automatic and automated manual Volvo transmissions ensures the right driveline performance for the task, supporting precise manoeuvring, confident control and dependable response in demanding emergency service conditions. Volvo Dynamic Steering further enhances manoeuvrability, helping reduce steering effort and improve control when navigating tight urban streets, station exits, firegrounds and rugged terrain.
