PTRD-F: High-rev with connecting flange attachment for direct-fitted propshaft.

PTRD-D: High-rev with dual drive. DIN connection front and rear for direct attachment of hydraulic pumps.

PTRD-D1: High-rev with dual drive. Connecting flange attachment at the rear and DIN attachment at the front.

PTRD-D2: High-rev with dual drive rear and single drive front. Two connecting flange attachments rear and one DIN attachment at the front.    

Three different versions of exterior trim are available to suit different needs.

Basic

Thunder gray grille and door handles. Chrome headlamps. Lightning gray sun visor, mirror covers and bumper.

Enhanced

Thunder gray grille. Cab colored mirror covers, door handles, sun visor and bumper. Chrome headlamps.

Volvo FM is available with vinyl and textile trim.

Vinyl and textile trim Robust

Durable materials in vinyl and textile with a modern color scheme that matches the various parts of the interior trim.

Day cab

Day cab (FM-DAY) with comfortable and ergonomic driver area. Interior height 164 centimetres: 120 centimetres on the engine compartment cover.

Low day cab

Low day cab (FM-LDAY) is needed for applications such as mining, refrigerated bodies, pumps and cranes. Interior height 148 centimetres: 104 centimetres on the engine compartment cover.

Sleeper cab

Sleeper cab (FM-SLP) with comfortable overnight accommodation for one person. Interior height 164 centimetres: 120 centimetres on the engine compartment cover.

Low sleeper cab

Low sleeper cab (FM-LSLP) with lowered roof provides added load space above the cab. Interior height 148 centimetres: 104 centimetres over the engine compartment.

Globetrotter cab

Globetrotter cab (FM-HSLP) offering comfortable overnight accommodation for up to two people. The cab features extra storage space higher up. Interior height 201 centimetres: 157 centimetres on the engine compartment cover.

Crew cab

Crew cab with ample space for several additional passengers up to 7 persons. Interior height 1590 millimetres.

Four-point cab suspension

Choose from coil springs with dampers, front coil springs and rear air suspension, or air suspension all round.

Air intakes

Air intake positioned on the left side and available in high or low placement options.

Driver’s seat

Equipped with Robust (vinyl) upholstery. The seat’s total adjustment scope is 200 millimetres fore-aft, and 100 millimetres vertically. The driver’s seat is fitted as standard with a head restraint, adjustable and fold-down backrest, vertical and fore-aft adjustment, adjustable lumbar support and adjustable seat angle.

Passenger seat

Equipped with robust vinyl upholstery Robust (vinyl). The passenger seats are equipped as standard with head restraints.

Beds

Lower bed measuring 70×200 centimetres.16 centimetres mattress with pocket springs and excellent comfort. Two varieties to choose from: Semi-firm and Firm.Two types of overlay mattress protector available, that improve comfort and help you make the bed more easily. Comfort upper bed dimensions: 70×190 centimetres 

Interior storage

The space above the windscreen consists of two storage compartments with roller doors as well as four ISO slots. Under the bed in the sleeper cab and the Globetrotter cab you will find two large storage compartments, accessible from the outside and one large (44 l volume) accessible by lifting the mattress and lid; in the sleeper section you can find two storage spaces for magazines and small items. The dashboard contains four open storage spaces, a small storage box, a DIN slot storage, a bird bath and a bottle holder. The day-cab can be fitted with 60 litres storage with jalousie openings for helmets, lunch boxes etc.

Exterior storage

Storage space accessible from the outside can be found behind the passenger and driver seats.

Roof hatch

The cab is equipped with a roof hatch that can be opened 50 millimetres. On the inside there is a perforated sunblind, which also acts as an insect net when the hatch is open. The roof hatch can be manually or electrically manoeuvred (option). A roof hatch in steel is also available, intended for construction or rough usages.

Steering wheel

Comes in 450 mm in diameter. The steering wheel’s height can be adjusted by up to 90 mm and the angle can be adjusted by 28°. With neck tilt (option) the steering wheel can be adjusted in vertical position between -5° and +15° – increasing the driver comfort. Integrated controls in the steering wheel provide safe and comfortable operation of cruise control, horn, phone and the functions in the Instrument Display and Side Display.

Climate system

Two alternative climate systems cover all needs:

• Air conditioning with manual control (MCC).
• Air conditioning with automatic temperature control (ECC/ECC2).

The climate system can also be complemented with cab and engine parking heaters.

Centrally mounted, semi-undermounted and undermounted towbars for centre-axle trailers. Towbars can be fitted at intervals of 25 millimetres.

Fuel tanks

Euro6: Aluminium tanks in volumes from 190 to 690 litres  

AdBlue tanks

Plastic. Volumes upto 150 litres

Volvo Dynamic Steering

Active steering system with torque overlay. Delivers more steering force at low speeds, reduces steering kicks and keeps the steering wheel straight forward when braking on split friction. The steering wheel returns automatically to neutral position both when driving forward and when reversing. Volvo Dynamic Steering is now available for all axle configurations, including trucks with dual front axles. It’s also available in combination with individual front suspension.

Pusher axles
Available in fixed and actively steered variants for both tractors and rigids. Axle load: 4.5, 7.5 or 9 tonnes.

Tag axles
Available in several configurations – fixed with single or dual wheels, self steered or actively steered. Axle load: 7.5, 9.5 or 10 tonnes.

Tandem Axle Lift

Allows the rearmost drive axle on the tandem bogie to be disengaged and raised, to reduce fuel consumption and turning radius. By pushing a button on the dashboard, the driver can raise the axle when the truck is unloaded. When the truck is loaded, the axle automatically lowers itself and engages. Tandem Axle Lift is available for 6×4 and 8×4 configurations (with a tandem bogie) equipped with disc brakes.
