Safety Zones

Smarter Control Where It Matters Most

 

Every environment comes with its own safety challenges — from busy ports to logistics hubs, schools and city centres.

With Volvo Safety Zones, fleet managers can set automatic speed limits in high-risk areas to help protect drivers, workers and other road users.

Through Volvo Connect, this intelligent system lets you define geofenced areas where trucks automatically adapt their speed, ensuring smoother operation, fewer incidents and greater peace of mind. It’s safety you can manage — day after day.

How Safety Zones works

Automatic Speed Control

When entering a zone, the truck will automatically brake to meet the set speed limit. The driver is notified in the instrument display.  

Driver Override Function

For safety purposes, the driver can override the speed limit by doing a kick-down on the accelerator pedal. If the driver uses cruise control, the speed cannot be set to a speed higher than the zone limit.

Fleet Monitoring in Volvo Connect

Entering, leaving, override and speed violation events are shown to the fleet manager in Volvo Connect.
