The trucks will be leased to IKEA transport sub-contractors as a part of its transport de-carbonisation strategy and will be put to work delivering IKEA products in metropolitan areas around Australia.
The Gen 3 trucks have a range of up to 450 kilometres and can carry a payload of up to 5,500kg.
“It’s been fantastic to see the evolution of electromobility here in Australia,” says Merrick, “Since the first electric FL arrived on our shores in 2020 this truck has only gotten better.”
“Our Australian electric truck fleet has now clocked up well over 1 million kilometres proving that electric is indeed a reality for transport operators looking to reduce emissions and noise in urban areas.”
The trucks have been fitted with lightweight bodies to promote productivity as well as efficiency.
“I’d like to thank IKEA for bringing us along on their de-carbonisation journey and hope to see more of these fantastic vehicles on Australian roads in the near future.”
