A leap in evolution

It resembles its bigger siblings – yet it’s as flexible and agile as you’ve come to know the Volvo FM to be. A new, modern profile reveals it’s in better shape than ever to take on your challenges. This is several steps ahead in evolution.

The cab features a new design with an upright profile, more interior space, generous window areas and a low door line. The Volvo FM is smooth around the edges, and the gaps between the upper and lower front are reduced to a minimum to improve aerodynamics and efficiency.

Another clear sign of this truck’s evolution is the headlamp design, which emphasises the Volvo FM’s iconic profile. The distinctive lines of the headlamps flow with the cab’s shape, proceeding around the front corner and stretching back on the cab sides. Even when standing still, it’s obvious that this truck is efficient at both a high pace and when navigating busy environments.

You’ll also see that the iron mark in the front is bigger and when you get closer to doors, you’ll notice the choice of entry steps with aluminium inlays. Details that make a difference.

An upright profile

The cab’s A pillars are upright. Combined with a large windscreen, a low door line and modern mirrors, this means excellent visibility. It also means ample interior space.

Built for visibility

The rearview mirrors have a modern design with slim housings and well proportioned mirror areas. They’re built in sections to combine a generous mirror view with minimised hidden angles. Add the auxiliary lower window in the passenger door, and you’ll have a great view around your truck. Even the areas in close proximity.

Headlamps

The iconic headlamps are available in two different versions: one with halogen lamps and one based on LED technology. They both have the characteristic V-shaped LED daytime running lights.

The safety choice

The Volvo FM keeps you about as safe as you can be on wheels. Our trucks in general – and our cabs in particular – undergo extensive testing. The Swedish cab strength test, barrier test, roll-over test, head impact test and sled test are performed with all interior equipment fitted and storage filled. Just to make sure you’re well protected in real life.
