The long haul evolution

It’s the distinctive Volvo FH as you know it – the ultimate long haul experience. And yet, it’s clear this is the next step in the evolution of trucks.

The shape is smoother around the edges and the gaps between the upper and lower front are smaller to improve aerodynamics and efficiency.

But what clearly signals the evolution is the headlamp design, which gives the Volvo FH its iconic profile. The distinctive lines of the headlamp flow with the cab’s shape, proceeding around the front corner and stretching back on the cab sides. Even when standing still, it’s obvious that this truck is built for efficiency at a high pace. The new headlamps are available in three versions and they not only look good – they’re also loaded with enhanced functionality.

You’ll also see that the iron mark in the front is bigger and when you get closer to enter, you’ll notice that the entry steps have aluminium inlays. Details that make a difference.

Headlamps

The iconic headlamps are available in three different versions: one based on halogen technology and two based on LED technology. They all have the characteristic V-shaped LED daytime running lights. The halogen unit is designed for improved light performance. The two other versions are entirely based on LED technology, which offer improved light performance and visibility. The most advanced version offers LED lights with adaptive high beam that maximises your visibility even in oncoming traffic.

The safety choice

The Volvo FH is made to keep you about as safe as you can be on wheels. Our trucks in general – and our cabs in particular – undergo extensive testing. The Swedish cab strength test, barrier test, roll-over test, head impact test and sled test are performed with all interior equipment fitted and storage filled. Just to make sure you’re well protected in everyday use.
